🇬🇧Bottle opened, decanted and left to breathe before serving for about two hours and a half. At this stage the wine is still very young, almost shy but it is already showing complex, intense and well integrated aroma of blackberries, blueberries, cassis, plums with a linear, ongoing eucalyptus note. There are also aroma of tobacco and chocolate and it is pretty clear the oak will still need some time to fully integrate and add even more complexity to the wine. Very pleasant herbal note both on the nose and on the palate on the long finish. Tannins are high but somehow already velvety, elegant rather than grippy. I personally think the wine is to be forgotten in the cellar for some years but the vintage is much more approachable and accessible now than so called better vintages. A safe-call in terms of style, the wine and the producer need no introductions, also for those who have no patience to wait and are looking for the power rather than a mature refined elegance.
🇮🇹Questa bottiglia è stata aperta e decantata circa due ore e mezzo prima di essere servita. Al momento il vino è ancora giovanissimo, piuttosto chiuso e un po' timido ma già si possono gustare - sia al naso che in bocca - aromi intensi e complessi, principalmente cassis, mirtilli, more e prugne con un retrogusto di eucalipto. Il legno è ben presente con sapori di tabacco e cioccolato, serve tempo per integrarsi ed esprimersi al meglio. Sul lungo finale, una piacevole continua nota erbacea. Tannini comunque eleganti, non così aggressivi da risultare non piacevoli. Personalmente dimenticherei la bottiglia in cantina per qualche anno ma ritengo che sia un'annata molto più accessibile e bevibile anche adesso rispetto ad altre annate ritenute migliori. Né il vino né il produttore hanno bisogno di presentazioni, entrambi sono una certezza e questa annata ad oggi può far felice anche chi non ha la pazienza di attendere un elegante sviluppo ma cerca piuttosto una giovane esuberanza del frutto.

🇬🇧Decanted one hour and a half before being served. The wine is still a baby at this stage but it is already showing off its great potential. Full-body, tannins are obviously high but not grippy either aggressive in the mouth, I would rather say more round and velvety somehow. The fruitness is soon exploding in the mouth with pronounced aroma of plums, dark berries, black cherries and before the long, mineral finish, the spiceness can be easily perceived, adding up complexity and a touch of sweetness. A underlying, persistent toasted note with more aroma of chocolate, vanilla and cedar is completing the balanced flavours bouquet. The wine is not shy at all, it is young and really wants to express, explore, explode in the next years to come. And excel! Patient is the key. Recommended!
🇮🇹Bottiglia decantata circa un'ora e mezza prima. Il vino è ancora molto giovane ma già capace di mettere in mostra tutto il proprio potenziale. Robusto, piuttosto tannico in questa fase evolutiva (come è giusto che sia) senza tuttavia essere sbilanciato in una sensazione di eccessiva astringenza in bocca, più vellutato che aggressivo. La frutta esplode nel palato immediatamente: prugne, more, ciliegie e prima di un lungo finale, note di spezie dolci e sentori minerali aggiungono complessità in bocca. Il legno si mostra infine nelle note tostate e nei sentori di cioccolato, vaniglia, cedro. Bilanciato, non timido, il vino scalpita fuori dal bicchiere, ha voglia di esprimersi, esplorare, esplodere... ed eccellere nei prossimi anni. Tempo al tempo, se queste sono le premesse, il futuro sarà ancora migliore. Consigliato!

🇬🇧On the nose the wine is clearly showing its slightly oxidative character, very well integrated into the pronounced aroma of citrus zest, ripen stone fruits, olives and vanilla. Same on the palate, it is very complex, more aroma of nuts, almonds and a hint of dried, candied fruit are texturing the mouth. The wine keeps evolving in the glass and in my opinion will benefit from a bit of aeration, the kind of white wine I would personally like to decant and to serve in a proper varietal glass. The finish is very long and the mineral character leaves a pleasant aftertaste. Not yet at its peak but showing already a great potential, it can be enjoyed now but it will be even greater in some years. Due to its specific style (which might not satisfy all the palate, despite the great quality), it is a very gastronomic wine which is expressing itself and its best together with food.
🇮🇹Al naso, si percepisce immediatamente il carattere ossidativo, ben integrato negli intensi sentori di limone, frutta matura (pesche e mele gialle), olive e vaniglia. Allo stesso modo, in bocca si esaltano aromi di nocciole, mandorle e una nota di frutta secca, candita. Il vino continua ad evolversi e cambiare nel bicchiere, personalmente mi piace decantarlo e servirlo in un calice specifico, ampio, per favorire una maggiore areazione. Il finale è lungo e minerale e lascia in bocca una piacevole sensazione, molto avvolgente. Non ancora al suo apice, esprime già un grandissimo potenziale evolutivo. Proprio per via del suo stile specifico e particolare, il vino - estremamente gastronomico - non piacerà necessariamente a tutti (nonostante l'evidente qualità) ma è proprio abbinato al cibo che dà il massimo.

🇬🇧Rich and complex without being opulent or too heavily oaked, an excellent pick in its price point. The nose is - at this stage - mainly showing primary aroma of citrus, white peach, apple with secondary aroma of butter, nuts and vanilla coming out and perfectly matching a mouthful texture on the palate with a long finish and an underlying, persistent hint of toast. The essence and the quality is all in the balance which can satisfy different palates regardless of their comfort zone in terms of taste. Recommended!
🇮🇹Intenso e complesso ma senza dimostrarsi opulento o troppo aggressivo con il legno. Ottima acquisto in questa categoria di prezzo. Al naso si percepiscono sentori di limone, pesca bianca, nocciole e vaniglia che si combinano perfettamente con la sensazione al palato, avvolgente e cremosa sul lungo finale con una persistente nota tostata. L'essenza e la qualità del vino stanno tutte nel suo essere bilanciato e armonico, capace di soddisfare diversi gusti e aspettative, indipendentemente dalle proprie preferenze di gusto. Consigliato!

🇬🇧Powerful yet elegant Saint-Émilion with polished, velvety tannins and good structure. Already approachable and showing off well but with a huge ageing potential ahead, definitely not yet at its peak. At this stage, both on the nose and the palate, the wine is showing mainly primary aroma of both red and black fruits with a hint of eucalyptus, nearly balsamic and the oak is already well integrated. Classic and modern at the same time, this wine shows both the style of the producer and the vintage.
🇮🇹Intenso ma elegante allo stesso tempo, tannini ben integrati e una buona struttura. Già approciabile ma decisamente con un gran potenziale di invecchiamento nel tempo, il vino non ha ancora raggiunto il suo apogeo. Al momento, sia in bocca che al naso, si percepiscono principalmente sentori di frutta rossa e nera con una nota di eucalipto, un tocco di balsamico ed il legno ben integrato. Classico e moderno, il vino rispecchia lo stile del produttore e le caratteristiche dell'annata.
