Chateau-Grillet 2010. Drukket til sushi og diverse asiatisk sjømat etter sterk anbefaling fra sommelieren. Et nytt bekjentskap for meg, men klart en av årets beste hvite viner. Aprikos, Trøffel og honning på nesen. I munnen også frisk konsentrert appelsin. Får ingen pære, som er vanlig for mange viognier viner. Frisk kjølig frukt av høyeste kvalitet, legger merke til tettheten i frukten, men også kompleksiteten og fremfor alt balansen. Siste glass det beste, holder hele kvelden i tropisk klima. 95 poeng.

Honeycomb, juicy peaches, and poached pears notes jump from the nose of the 2019 Château Grillet, followed by hints of white pepper and marzipan. The rich, seductive, full-bodied palate delivers a decadently creamy texture with spicy sparks emerging from the orchard fruit flavors, finishing with great length.

The 2014 Château Grillet slowly emerges from the glass with fragrant notions of lemon curd, Golden Delicious apples, pear tart, and lemongrass, leading to wafts of crushed stones and coriander seed. Medium to full-bodied in the mouth, a satiny texture and racy backbone beautifully frame the whispery citrus and spice flavors, finishing long and chalky. When mature like this, Château Grillet could easily be mistaken for a great white Burgundy—love it.

Has a deep golden hue fading to old copper, brimming with concentration and offering aromas of dry straw, peach, nectarine, white pepper, dust, and wet sand minerals.⁠

On the palate, experience a dry, structured wine with a dense mid-palate and back palate that's creamy and round, underscored by a mineral core of spiciness, refreshing and extending the length.⁠

This surprising wine tastes and feels like it's about 20 years younger, and it likely would have been even better 10-20 years ago. If you have any left in your cellar, now's the time to enjoy it. 93⁠
