The 2021 Bionic Frog Syrah is 100% Syrah, all from Coccinelle Vineyard. Deep garnet-purple colored, it needs some patient swirling to lure out scents of ripe plums, fresh blackberries, and green peppercorns, leading to provocative hints of mustard seed, graphite, star anise, and mossy tree bark with a hint of black truffles. The medium-bodied palate grows in the mouth with mineral and earth notes expanding to mouth-coating black fruit flavors and ripe rounded tannins, finishing with great freshness and a dazzling display of ferrous sparks.

The 2008 Bionic Frog Syrah is 100% Syrah, all from Coccinelle Vineyard. Deep garnet colored without even a hint of brick, it soars out of the glass with fragrant scents of kirsch, stewed plums, unsmoked cigars, and mint tea, followed by emerging hints of anise, dried sage, orange peel, fallen leaves, and dusty soil. The medium-bodied palate is silky and fresh with bright black and red fruit layers, finishing long with ferrous and savory sparks.
