Clear, medium garnet in colour. Slight brown tint at the rim. Clean aroma. Pronounced, tertiary aroma characteristics. Smells of cherry, tobacco, orange zest, rose pedals, oak, leather and wet leaves. Fine developed nose. Tertiary taste characteristics. Tastes of red cherry and sour cherry, blood orange, sweet tobacco, old leather and with a dusty undertone. 

This wine is bone dry with a high acidity. Lovely integrated medium(+) tannin. Medium(+) alcohol. This is a full-bodied wine with a medium(+) flavour intensity. This is a fine balanced wine, the tannins and acidity is well put together now. Though I thought it would be better in just a year or two after 2 hours in the carafe, it died off after around 5 hours which makes me think otherwise. The acidity is a little sharp, definitely some volatile acidity action going on in the wine. Parts of me think that is a style trait, maybe some of it comes from the Vespolina. The complexity now is very good, I can sense elegance emerging though we’re not quite there yet. Long finish.
