The 2016 Bell Hill is truly world-class. Its bright, lightly extracted ruby hue is followed by a gorgeous perfume of dusty strawberries and raspberries, complemented by scents of citrus peel, pickled red apple, dry seaweed, autumn leaf, and wildflowers. It suggests they are vinified with a percentage of whole bunch, which seems to be complementary. About an hour after decanting, notes of caramel and dry wood, rose, flinty, and rock minerals emerge.⁠

This eccentric, demanding wine boasts pointy and savory flavors, with a great interplay between acidity and tannins. It delivers a structured, lean, and savory flavor with a lovely spicy cherry residue, along with a citrus and flinty lift of freshness.
