Juicy and slim in feel, with green apple and citrus, stone fruits through the mid palate and then steely acidity and crushed oyster salinity on the finish. This was a sunny and above-average-temperature vintage, as in much of Europe, where it helped that they vinified whole cluster, keeping the stems. Fermented in barrels, no malo, Chardonnay kept on the skins, with the Viognier in concrete vats, then blended at the end of ageing. The grapes come from a mix of two sites close to the woods, providing cooler temperatures and shade during the hottest hours of the day, 25% new oak for ageing.
