Slim and savoury, very much on the blueberry and redcurrant fruits, laced with waves of vanilla pod, clove spices and sage. Precise, unfussy. 44hl/ha yield, organic certified. 3.35 pH. 18% new oak. Harvest 19 September to 9 October. 

Inside Bordeaux

Beautifully fragrant, fresh, crunchy, juicy, anis, fennel, cut herbs, well judged ripe fruits, good balance. Merlot harvest September 6 to October 4 (interesting to note this, as many had finished the Merlot very early, and Cabernet Franc to October 3). 27% new oak for ageing, and yields of 45hl/h. 3.42ph.

Ruby red colour, with cool blue fruit that is unusual in the vintage for its sap and reserve. As it opens the palate widens, and creamier damson and red cherry appear, without sacrificing the juice and lift through the palate. The austerity, that is offset with gunsmoke curls, is impressive, and this is a finessed Croix Canon that has a lot going for it. Bitter black chocolate gives focus on the finish. 45hl/h yield. 30% new oak.

This is good, easy to recommend. A little knife edge in its acidites, but juicy and impressive. Caressing, supple tannins and plenty of saffron-streaked red cherry fruit. Here no bleeding of the tanks but a touch of chaptalisation. Harvest September 16 to October 8, 30% new oak

The deep garnet-purple colored 2020 Croix Canon is a blend of 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Franc. It skips out of the glass with bright, expressive notions of juicy black and red plums, boysenberry preserves, and Morello cherries, giving way to wafts of lavender, tapenade, and dusty soil. The full-bodied palate is coated with expressive black berry layers and a soft texture, finishing with a vibrant lift.

The 2019 Croix Canon, made from 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, is deep garnet-purple in color. Notes of chocolate-covered cherries, mulberries, and violets jump from the glass followed by wafts of cedar and Indian spices. The medium to full-bodied palate is soft and generous, with lovely harmony and a fragrant finish.

Mørke og røde plommer på smak. Overraskende balansert og myk. Deilig konsentrasjon. Pene tanniner.
