La Rioja Alta Viña Arana Gran Reserva 2016 er en klassisk, elegant Rioja med modenhet og finesse.

Farge:

Dyp rubinrød med en svak mursteinskant som vitner om modning.

Nese:

Kompleks og rik duft av modne kirsebær, tørket frukt som fiken, samt vanilje, tobakk og et hint av skogbunn fra fatlagringen.

Smak:

Silkemyk og balansert, med lag av røde bær, krydder og et touch av lær og kakao. Den friske syren og modne tanniner gir en lang og elegant avslutning.

Perfekt til lam, grillet kjøtt eller modne oster. En vin for spesielle anledninger.

Amatør

Was expecting a bit more, nice tannins, length was impressive but all in all too straight forward. 

WSET 2

The nose is fruity with black currants, blackberries, currants and crow berries. There is also liquorice, moist moss, saffron and cardamom. The palate is medium-bodied, intensely fruity and with a fine balancing acidity. The finish is medium long, fruity and acidic. It is lean and elegant, and very nice to drink now. It is very different from the big brothers 904 and 890 which are both heavier and more dominated by oak when young. This has only been in old oak barrels, and is therefore leaner, more fruity and drink-ready much earlier. 91 Points. It paired well with the hamburger from Matmagasinet.
