The 2023 Blanc de Tronquoy prances out with gregarious scents of juicy pears, yellow apples, and spice cake followed by hints of honeysuckle, mandarin peel, and chalk dust. The medium-bodied palate delivers bags of orchard fruit flavors, with well-knit acidity and finishing with spicy lift. This is nicely done! The blend is 51% Semillon and 49% Sauvignon Gris, with pH 3.04. Jean-Bernard Delmas planted this vineyard of just 2 hectares in 2008.

Jean-Philippe Delmas planted mainly Semillon here to replicate what was being done at Haut-Brion Blanc. A blend of 64% Semillon and 36% Sauvignon Gris, the white 2021 Tronquoy leaps from the glass with exuberant notes of fresh pears, white peaches, and grapefruit, plus nuances of honeysuckle, jasmine tea, and beeswax, with a waft of coriander seed. The light to medium-bodied palate offers great tension, with bags of citrus and stone fruit flavors and a long, chalky finish. Yum!

Slate-strewn citrus and apricot flavours build expertly as the wine unrolls through the palate, this is enjoyable and well balanced. From 1ha of vines within the main estate that has been planted to white Sémillon and Sauvignon Gris grapes since 2011, one hectare (2.5 acres). Fermented and aged in barrel.

Inside Bordeaux

Served from magnum. More proof that this was an excellent vintage for dry whites in Bordeaux, and this was full of flavour. Lime zest, grapefuit, melon, citrus, so juicy and drinkable.
