We had the pleasure of tasting Mazis 2015 served blind next to the 2015 Mazoyere Chambertin Grand Cru by Domaine Tawse⁠, and boy, what a showdown. ⁠

Both wines boasted a similarly youthful and bright color, with Mazoyere offering a rustic charm and a mineral-floral perfume that took us on a journey.⁠

Its red fruit profile, including raspberries, red plum, and strawberries, was complemented by hints of smoke and that signature Gevrey earthiness. ⁠
Floral and lifted, it danced on the palate with a silkiness and delicacy and juicy, pure, and long finish had us reaching for another glass before we could even finish the first. ⁠

And here's the kicker - it felt dryer and more nuanced, with a lasting impression that lingered on the taste buds longer than Mazis. ⁠

Both wines showcased their unique personalities, but if you're asking us, Mazoyeres stole the show with its youthful, sexy allure. And as for aging, I would say give it 10 years as it will be much better. 96+⁠
