It has a screw cap! The nose is fruity with green apples, cucumber and lime. There is also freshly cut green grass, and it is mineral with salt and shale. It is clean, complex and incredibly appealing. 

The palate is lean, fruity as for the nose, and intensely acidic. The aftertaste is very long and acidic. It is still primary, and can therefore be aged for at least another 10 years. I have rarely tasted a 9-year-old wine that is so primary and fresh! 

It's a fabulous wine, and by far the best white I've tasted from Australia.

Grip, tension and pleasure spring to mind as soon as you get onboard with this wine. So much depth and confidence on display, with a slate, gunsmoke and cold ash wave that offsets the rich citrus fruit, all laced with sage, lemongrass and white tea. Tom King director, Peter Gago chief winemaker.

Inside Bordeaux

The 2021 Penfolds Yattarna Bin 144 Chardonnay comes from Tasmania (81%), Tumbarumba (10%), and Adelaide Hills (9%). Is very closed to begin, needing a lot of shaking to wake up notes of fresh apricots, pink grapefruit, lime cordial, and sea spray, leading to suggestions of shaved almonds, struck flint, and yuzu zest. The light to medium-bodied palate is super-intense with a very crisp backbone that is beautifully balanced by intense citrus and stone fruit flavors, releasing a whole firework display of minerals on the epically long finish. Give it 3-4 years at least in bottle and then drink it over the next 15-20 years+.

Noe av det ypperste av chardonnay utenfor Burgund som fungerer utmerket til grillet hvit fisk og kylling. Duft av fersken, eple, sitrus, smør, nøtter, vanilje og krydder. Fyldig med god syre. Rik balansert og konsentrert frukt med preg av fersken, vanilje og fat. Blir enda bedre med et par års lagring.

Røde modne epler, fersken, tørket aprikos, vanilje, våt sopp, nøtter, kanel.

Smak av røde modne epler, fersken, sursøt aprikos, og hint av vanilje. Utrolig høy drikkeglede.
