Mørk cherry-rød, sterk nese av tobakk, eik og sjokolade. Smooth og rund, lette tanniner. Blåbær og vanilje. Behagelig lang.

The oak is a little more evident than in the past few years because of the quality of the blackcurrant fruit, but this has good kick and lift. A little austere, but has personality.  Harvest 23 September to 3 October. 60% new oak. This is sourced from some of the historical plots of Valandraud, near to the Virginie de Valandraud plots. More gourmet than many you will find this year, Jean-Luc Thunevin owner.

Inside Bordeaux

High spice, black pepper fresh and supple with oak grilling. Grapes from Virginie de Valandraud section of the vineyard. Remi Dalmasso winemaker, 60% new oak for ageing. Jean-Luc Thunevin owner, harvest September 13 to October 4.

A blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc, the 3 de Valandraud 2022 is deep garnet-purple in color. Notes of plum preserves, baked blackberries, and kirsch leap from the glass, followed by hints of charcoal and sauteed herbs. Medium-bodied, the palate is refreshing and fruity, with lightly chewy tannins and a savory finish.

3 de Valandraud 2021 has a medium to deep garnet-purple color. It features notes of redcurrants and black raspberries, with hints of garrigue, tilled soil, and black olives. Medium-bodied, the palate is delicately styled, with crunchy fruit and a lively line, finishing softly textured.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2020 3 de Valandraud is a little tarry and broody to start, opening out to notes of stewed plums and fruitcake with touches of tar, black olives, and scorched earth. The medium-bodied palate is tightly wound and refreshing, with soft tannins and an earthy finish.
