Raspberry shot on the opening beats, tight with grip, good quality, sage spice and black fruits, this is structured and knitted down, tannins are chalky but the high acidity is well handled here to give a juicy finish. Harvest 23 September to 4 October, 18% in amphora, 8% new 500l barrels, 24% neutral 500l barrels, the rest in neutral 225l barrels.

Inside Bordeaux

Cloves, black pepper spice on the opening, this has depths and well worked architecture with clear character and intensity, espresso, slate, cassis. You can feel the hand of the wiemaker, but that hand has done a good job. Tannic chew on the finish. 81% aged in oak, 19% in 750l terracota amphora.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2022 Anthonic is slightly closed to start off. With swirling, a nose of black cherries, juicy black plums, and black raspberries in unleashed, followed by hints of pencil shavings and iris. The medium-bodied palate is bright and breezy, with lively black and red berry layers and a plush texture, finishing savory.

There is charm here, with delicate waves of red cherry, raspberry leaf and rose stem, not as concentrated as recent vintages at this excellent estate that is truly worth following.
