Plenty of perky En Primeur character, setting out its stall with vivid black fruits, touches of rose petal, good punch on the opening. Expect cassis, black chocolate and liqourice, with firm Médoc personality, a little short on the finish but with charm. 55th vintage for owner Jean-Michel Quié at Bel Orme (same owners as Rauzan Gassies and Croizet Bages), 30ha estate in the high quality commune of Saint Seurin de Cadourne. Rich layers of black chocolate, red cherry and damson, high tension and high drama in its tannins, as you are going to find everywhere.
