This estate has invested heavily over the past few years, and it has given them a good base for navigating the challenges of 2024. Plenty of deep spice notes, rosemary and black pepper, with blackberry and redcurrant fruits, plenty to enjoy here but the acidity cuts things off abruptly on the finish. Harvest 30 September to 8 October, 15hl/h yield. 

Inside Bordeaux

This has improved over ageing - the oak is still dominant, with grilled cedar and tar, but the blackberry and damson fruit have moved to the foreground. King Power Group, director Guillaume Mottes, Oenoconseil consultants. An upscore.

The 2020 Bernadotte is deep garnet-purple in color. It bursts with notes of juicy black plums, kirsch, and allspice, followed by suggestions of vanilla pod and tobacco leaf. The medium-bodied palate has plenty of uncomplicated black fruits on offer, with a chewy texture and a spicy finish.
