Deep garnet-purple colored. Comes bounding out with exuberant notes of juicy black cherries and fresh raspberries, plus hints of dark chocolate and rose oil. The medium-bodied palate delivers a good core of bright fruit with firm, grainy tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing with a red berry lift.

Plenty of grip from the opening beats, charred oak, violet florals, blueberry and ripe raspberry puree fruits with a ton of black chocolate and aniseed. St Christophe de Bardes terroir, cooler terroir, you see it in the violet-edged colour, intense and austere at this point but sappy and full of life.

Inside Bordeaux

Composed of 92% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 3% Carmenere, and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2022 Boutisse is deep garnet-purple in color. It gives up notes of cedar, crushed rocks, and dusty soil, before opening out to a core of prunes, dried cherries, and spice box. The medium to full-bodied palate is firm and chewy, with tart acidity and subdued dried berry flavors, finishing a little rustic.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2020 Boutisse is shut tight and hard to read at the start, slowly expanding to offer notes of baked black plums, juicy black cherries, and blackberry compote, followed by wafts of fallen leaves, Indian spices, and incense. The medium to full-bodied palate is laden with black fruit preserves and opulent spices, supported by plenty of freshness and soft tannins, finishing long and fragrant.

Tight tannins that have not softened hugely since the En Primeur tastings. There are attractive spice notes underneath, with cinnamon and turmeric against plump raspberry fruits, but oak feels dominant (this is in fact the last vintage before ageing is turned over entirely to amphoras, and the estate begins organic conversion).
