Inside Bordeaux

The 2023 Dauzac is deep garnet-purple in color. On the nose, notes of dried mulberries, stewed strawberries, and raisin cake give way to hints of leather and balsamic. The light to medium-bodied palate is soft and simple, with just enough freshness and a rustic finish.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2022 Dauzac jumps from the glass with bold, up-front notes of baked plums, creme de cassis, and fruitcake, leading to wafts of tobacco leaf and tapenade. The medium-bodied palate features bright, refreshing black fruits with a zippy line and lightly chewy tannins, finishing with a lively lift.

The 2021 Dauzac has a deep garnet-purple color. It features oaky overtones to begin, giving way to notes of black cherries and cassis, plus a touch of black olives. Medium-bodied, the palate has a good core of oak-laced fruit, with a grainy texture and a savory finish.

The 2020 Dauzac, 72% Cabernet Sauvignon and 28% Merlot, is deep garnet-purple in color. It leaps with vibrant notes of crushed black and red currants, raspberry leaves, and wood smoke, leading to touches of graphite, black olives, and wet slate. The medium-bodied palate offers pure red and black berry flavors with mineral accents and an approachable, grainy texture, finishing with an herbal lift.

The 2019 Dauzac is medium to deep garnet-purple in color. It features bright, pure notes of blackcurrants, kirsch, and crushed plums, plus suggestions of camphor, pencil lead, and cedar. The medium-bodied palate is elegantly styled, with tight-knit, youthful fruit and finely grained tannins, finishing on a lingering mineral note.

The 2018 Dauzac is deep garnet purple in color. It has quite an oaky nose, giving way to scents of crème de cassis, blackberry pie, and unsmoked cigars, with wafts of cloves and rose oil. Full-bodied, the palate is firm and chewy, with a lively backbone and generous fruit, finishing just a little firm and rustic. 

Silky tannins, with inky depths to the colour, and gorgeous notes of chocolate and fresh damson, cassis and blueberry fruits. Great persistency, this is riven through with toasted oak notes, just starting to open up for drinking now, but it will age. Such a great example of the 2016 vintage, and a reminder that Dauzac is a 5th Growth that is in the ascendancy. 68% new oak. Located in the southern section of Margaux, close to the Garonne river, with deep clay and gravel soils.

The 2012 Dauzac is medium garnet in color. It springs forth with ready-to-go notes of juicy red and black plums and kirsch with hints of bay leaves and tobacco. The medium-bodied palate is bright, lively, and juicy with approachable chewy tannins and a lifted finish.
