The light-bodied palate is energetic and shimmery, delivering fine-grained tannins and bold freshness, finishing long and minerally.

The 2023 Domaine de Chevalier has a deep garnet-purple color. It is a little broody and oaky to start, needing coaxing to bring out a gorgeous core of black cherries, redcurrants, and cassis, with underlying hints of violets and forest floor. The medium to full-bodied palate has a solid frame of firm, grainy tannins and bright acidity supporting the muscular fruit, finishing long and minerally. The blend is 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, and 5% Cabernet Franc.

A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Franc, the 2022 Domaine de Chevalier Rouge is deep garnet-purple in color. It prances out of the glass with show-stopping scents of wild blueberries, black raspberries, and redcurrant preserves, leading to suggestions of candied violets, cinnamon stick, and fragrant soil. The medium to full-bodied palate is elegantly styled, with bright, nuanced black and red berry layers beautifully supported by fine-grained tannins and wonderful tension, leading to a very long and perfumed finish on this stunning wine. pH 3.64.

Veldig rødbærs drevet stil, ganske elegnat fruktdreven nese, av sødmefulle røde jordbær. Nesten over mot lilla rødbærsfrukt. Mørke mineralske undertoner. 

Kjølige, lette og tette tanniner, med dominanse av jordbær og røde bringebær. Elegant, kjølig, og noe rustikt.

Great structure blending a wealth of ripe dark fruit with fine oak, plenty of super refined tannins, lovely freshness paired with dense dark fruit and marvellously long finish, excellent potential.

Sommelier

This is just gorgeous, you see exactly where it is going, with waves of unfussy but powerful black fruit aromatics, a beautiful wine that is full of density and complexity, pared back with restrained cassis and bilberry at this point. Hints of cocoa bean, tobacco, slate, truffle and smoked earth coming through, that will no doubt build over the next few years in bottle. Tasted twice, two months apart, both times hugely successful, easy to recommend. In organic conversion.

Inside Bordeaux

Solbær, skogsbær, vanilje, blyantkvess og krydder på det som forståelig nok er en primær nese. I munnen møtes vi av en vin som er grasiøs som en ballettdanser og dannet som en britisk Lord. En vegg av sjarmerende frukt, perfekt balansert mot vinens syrenivå og hjortefot-tanniner - dette er sømløst og vakkert! Voldsom konsentrasjon og lengde - kanskje den mest lovende DdC-årgangen jeg har smakt. 10 år lengre frem begynner dette å smelte pikehjerter for alvor!

The 2017 Domaine de Chevalier has a deep garnet-purple color. It rolls out of the glass with open-knit notes of fresh blackcurrants, blackberry preserves, and black raspberries, with hints of anise, forest floor, and menthol. Medium-bodied, the palate is elegant and refreshing, featuring lightly chewy tannins and an earthy finish.

Amatør

The 2013 Domaine de Chevalier is medium garnet in color, with a touch of brick. It gently emerges from the glass with scents of redcurrant jelly, dried blackberries, and bay leaves, plus hints of pencil shavings, tobacco, and dusty soil. Medium-bodied, the palate delivers a good core of red berry and earthy layers, with a firm, chewy texture, finishing on a stewed tea note.

This is enjoyable, heading towards tertiary flavours with melted tannins, and layers of cigar box, salted caramel, blackberry and blueberry fruits. Has grip through the core but is welcoming rather than overly concentrated at this point. Tasted out of magnum. An estate that offers excellent consistency, and it is an easy 2012 to recommend.

Aroma av sur søte krisebær, mørke moreller, våt asfalt, jordbær, bringebær, vanilje, kirsebær, anise, tobakk, mørk sjokolade, 

Bra balanse, stor tanninstruktur, en stor vin, konsentrert, kompleks, lang lengde.

Stor vin som vil lagre veldig bra, 2030-2035 sikkert peak her.

Frukten er ganske intense, men på en rustikk måte. 18 frukt. 

En aldeles silkemyk og delikat 2004 årgang med flott struktur og fløyelsaktig tanniner. Perfekt nå med deilige tertiære innslag. Heldigvis mange flere flasker igjen🥰

WSET Diploma

The nose is fruity with black currants and dried figs. There is also sour-sweet tobacco, licorice and autumn leaves. It is incredibly complex and exciting. 

The palate is fruity, clean, acidic and silky. It is very elegant. The finish is long, earthy and acidic. This was the last bottle of a case of 12, which I purchased 15 years ago, and this was clearly the best. 

It's in its perfect drinking window now, but there's still no hurry. It paired perfectly with roast tenderloin.

Pen mørk frukt og typiske lær, tobakk, sedertre aromaer på nese. Åpnet seg etter ca 10-15 min. God lengde og pen frukt til å nærme seg 25 år.

Amateur

Alle gode ting tar cirka 15 minutter. Trengte et lite kvarter på å åpne seg. Til gjengjeld fikk du jordbær, støvete jord, mørke bær, mynte, rosmarin og sort te. Fortsatt høyst i live, med mange år foran seg

Certified Sommelier

Etter 40 år fortsatt frisk med mye spenstig rød frukt og syre. Strukturen er helt nedslipt og rund. Kompleks, men oppleves egentlig som en ganske lett vin. Får mye igjen for å la Bordeaux av denne kvaliteten ligge i fred lenge nok.

Kirsebær, tørkede jordbær, søtlig pipetobakk, fuktig lær, eksotisk treverk og florale toner over et tydelig jordsmonnspreg. Plenty av liv igjen i munnen her. Frisk, kjølig og elegant, med godt utviklede aromaer i midtparti. Konsentrasjonen noe lavere enn hva adressen leverer i moderne tid, men det er tross alt en 40 år gammel vin. Utgang med god lengde og behagelige, støvete tanniner. Balansert, bereist, tilstedeværende og veldig pen BDX som gjør en entusiast varm om hjerterota! 

Saturated, fully mature chestnut ruby, fading towards mahogany rim. Spiciness with lifted, classic Claret perfume of smoke, cassis, shoe polish, fish oil, and dark cherry preserves with damp earth and graphite minerals.⁠

The flavor is pure and mellow, with a fully integrated and tender structure, featuring blue and black cherries, smoke, graphite, cinnamon, and cassis.⁠

Fantastic sequence, and harmony between acidity, alcohol, and tannins provide plenty of moreish, satisfactory residue, especially in the mid and back palate.⁠

Classy and refined wine, despite its age, I believe it can only get better with another 10 - 15 years of age. 93+⁠

importert i barrique og flasket av Vinmonopolet - få kjøper 52 - en årgang som lovet veldig bra, men med mye regn under innhøstingen - Pomerol, Saint Emilion og Graves høstet før regnet og mange chateau laget topp viner. Denne med høy fruktsødme. Det skrives at vinene med høy merlotandel berget best i Graves. Bløt struktur. Intens. Tobakk, lær og varm jord. Pen friskhet. (93)
