Focuses more on red fruits than black, a little more austere than the other two in this quality grouping of Médoc wines from Domaines CGR, along with a lovely burst of liqourice root and well-judged acidity. 45% new oak for ageing, harvest September 14 to October 2. 43hl/h yield. They hold it back at the estate for 10 years after harvest before release, although this particular bottling seems like it would be ready to begin drinking earlier than that.

Inside Bordeaux

This comes replete with the austere tannins of a young Médoc, emphasised by traces of spiky acidity, but delivers plenty of character, with juicy redcurrant and red cherry fruits, given depth by waves of tobacco, liqourice and slate. Plenty of personality, intense and concentrated in the spirit of the vintage. Domaines CGR.
