Inside Bordeaux

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2023 Laroze springs with vibrant notes of black raspberries and Morello cherries plus nuances of cloves, tilled soil, and lavender. The medium-bodied palate is elegant and soft-spoken, with plush tannins and beautiful poise, finishing with a quiet intensity.

The 2022 Laroze is deep garnet-purple in color. A little subdued to begin, it needs some swirling to coax out notes of black cherries and blackberry preserves, plus hints of violets, cinnamon toast, and garrigue. The medium to full-bodied palate is rich and seductive, with plush tannins and a long, spicy finish. This is very pretty!

A blend of 60 % Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 10 % Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2021 Laroze has a medium to deep garnet-purple color. It starts off with scents of cedar and rose oil, giving way to a core of juicy blackberries, Morello cherries, and underbrush. The medium-bodied palate is filled with black and red berry layers, supported by grainy tannins and bold freshness, finishing on a woody note.

Well judged and sculpted, powerful berry fruits, hedgerow with a touch of St Emilion glamour, lovely power on the finish. This is good, has an uplift and a ton of joy. Tasted twice. This estate really has taken a big step up in quality over the past few years and this is an upscore from En Primeur, very impressive, one to watch.

Laroze 2018 has a deep garnet-purple color. It leaps from the glass with scents of warm blackberries, wild sage, and kirsch, plus wafts of fallen leaves and tree bark. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is firm and chewy, with just enough freshness and a rustic finish. 

Spiced rosemary, black cherry, fully ripe fruits that head just over the line towards fig and prune, it's enjoyable, full of character, fully ready to drink.
