This is a great balanced and complex wine with lots of structure and smooth tannins. In a perfect place right now but can keep. Delicious dark fruit and pencil case - just a touch of tertiary. Love it

Deep garnet-purple colored. After some swirling, notes of strawberry and rhubarb pie slowly emerge, followed by hints of dried herbs, pencil lead, and tilled soil. The light to medium-bodied palate is delicate and refreshing with just enough tangy flavors and a lightly chewy texture, finishing with an herbal lift.

The 2023 Malescot St. Exupery is medium to deep garnet-purple in color. It offers up classic scents of blackcurrants, kirsch, and pencil shavings followed by nuances of crushed rocks and cardamom. The medium-bodied palate delivers a firm frame of grainy tannins and well-knit freshness to support the taut black fruit, finishing long with a minerally lift.

This is very good, intense, great concentration and grip, rose buds, damson, tension, grip and personality. A wine that I can often find overpowering, but it is thoroughly enjoyable in this vintage. Léa Zuger owner, Michel Rolland consultant.

Inside Bordeaux

Soft through the mid palate, this majors on raspberry and red cherry fruits, along with lemongrass and underripe plum notes also, struggles to really get going and the acidity is a little high, although the attractive gunsmoke and grilled oak helps round things out. Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2020 Malescot St. Exupery is a little sluggish and broody to begin, before cutting loose with notes of crushed red currants, warm cassis, and black raspberries, followed by hints of cardamom, violets, and black pepper. Medium to full-bodied, rich and plush, it delivers bags of opulent black and red fruits and fantastic persistence.

The 2019 Malescot St. Exupery has a deep garnet-purple color. It is a little broody and subdued to start, opening out to notes of tar, fragrant earth, and crushed rocks, over a core of fresh blackcurrants and stewed plums. The medium-bodied palate has lovely tension and ripe, grainy tannins supporting the youthful, muscular fruit, finishing earthy.

Malescot St. Exupery 2018 has a deep garnet purple color. It delivers open-knit scents of warm cassis, black cherry compote, and mulberries, with touches of dried herbs, pencil shavings, and damp soil. Medium to full-bodied, with elegantly styled fruit and plush tannins, it has a long and refreshing finish. 

The 2014 Malescot St. Exupery is medium to deep garnet-brick in color. Mature scents of cigar box and leather lead to a core of dried mulberries and cassis plus touches of pencil lead and dusty soil. The medium-bodied palate is a tad firm and rugged, with just enough fruit and freshness, finishing chewy.

The 2013 Malescot St. Exupery is medium garnet in color, with a touch of brick. It offers a good intensity of dried blackberry and mulberry scents, followed by touches of garrigue, tar, pencil shavings, and leather. Medium-bodied, the palate delivers delicate black fruit preserves and savory layers, with a firm, chewy texture and a lifted finish.

Medium to deep garnet colored, the 2012 Malescot St. Exupery sails out with open-knit, mature scents of unsmoked cigars, mossy tree bark, and spice box with an undercurrent of dried figs and mulberries. The medium-bodied palate is drying slightly, with chewy tannins and a tart finish.

Enjoyable, richly textured, this is open and at the start of its drinking window, attractive depth through the mid palate, a little overly smoked that threatens the balance on the finish, but there is a lot to enjoy here with graphite, crayon and liquorice root set against damson fruits - and the rich texture that comes into focus after a good 30 minutes in the glass suggests that it will develop further over the next decade or so. 80% new oak.

Enticing dark plum colour, this is carefully extracted, emphasising the fully ripe fruits that head towards fig and blackberry, along with creme de cassis, incense and cinnamon, carefully balanced by fresher touches of sage and fennel herbs. Thoroughly enjoyable. 80% new oak for ageing.

Dark ruby in colour, slight pinking on the edges but still very much in the zone of a young wine visually. Serious stuff, has the core of 2005 in terms of energy and power, and is still young, with dense fruits, a zip of minerality and lift, and remains juicy on the finish. Liqourice, cigar box, raspberry, white pepper and sage spice. This is a great example of the vintage, and at a great moment to drink but going absolutely nowhere. A special occasion wine. 80% new oak.

Ingen indikasjon på at denne er 20 år. Kjeller lagring på 12c med høy luft fuktighet får ta sin del av æren. Dette er digg og kan fortsatt ligge🥰
