Like the floral aromatics here, followed by raspberry puree, just the right amount of rustic to make it approachable and not overly sleek, has juice and character, and is an enjoyable wine. Guillard family owners since 2020, still with Alain Moueix as director. 18hl/h yield, harvest September 1 to 22, 30% in barrel, 20% in cement edges, 30% in large oak cask and 20% in amphora.Certified organic and biodynamic.

A blend of 72% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot, the 2021 Mazeyres has a deep garnet-purple color. It opens with damp soil, wild mushrooms, and vegetal scents, with a waft of kirsch in the background. The medium-bodied palate is certainly refreshing but lacks flavor and texture, with an herbal finish.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2020 Mazeyres rocks up with ready-to-go notes of baked plums, boysenberry preserves, and fruitcake, followed by hints of charcuterie, dried herbs, and cloves. The full-bodied palate is concentrated and chewy, with a lively line and a savory lift on the finish.

Raspberry, blueberry, cappuccino and liquorice bud give a gourmet fruit-forward kick as this wine opens in the palate, with appealingly plump fruit and gentle grilled earth notes. This is always an enjoyable Pomerol, not as concentrated as some but with balance and juice. Harvest September 12 to October 3, farmed biodynamically since 2012. Aged 50% in barrels, 20% in 7hl concrete tanks, 20% in amphoras, 10% in oak casks. Alain Moueix director, with the Guillard family - also at Fonroque and Grand Barrail - new owners since September 2020 (so overseeing ageing and bottling of this wine).

Bigger and more muscular than its 2009, this majors on ripe black fruits, starts off with a punch of black chocolate and espresso, the muscles close in on themselves, even heading a little drying on the finish.

Ruby red in colour, juicy, enjoyable, finessed tannins, ripe red fruits, edges of cumin and white pepper, enjoyable, easy to drink, soft on the finish, no need to wait.

Dark ruby in colour, with raspberry and red cherry fruits on the attack. As it opens, expect anis, cassis, cigar box, sandalwood, unfussy earthiness, enjoyably fine tannins. Good stuff from this 22ha vineyard, today organic, then in sustainable agriculture. 40% new oak, director Alain Moueix.
