Deep garnet-purple colored. Needs a little shaking to wake up notes of black currants and juicy strawberries, followed by wafts of dried sage, underbrush, and damp soil. The light-bodied palate is a touch chewy and rugged with herbs-laced berry flavors and appealing freshness, finishing firm.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2023 Paveil de Luze features delicate notes of fresh raspberries and strawberries with hints of dried herbs, graphite, and damp soil. The medium-bodied palate is a little chewy and thin, leading to a firm, rugged finish. The blend is 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2022 Paveil de Luze needs some coaxing to bring out notes of warm cassis, black cherries, and mulberries, followed by touches of garrigue and cedar. The medium-bodied palate is soft and juicy, with well-balanced acidity and a spicy kick to the finish.

Plenty to enjoy here, blue and red berry fruits, autumnal in character with a purity and juice from fresh acidities set within a firm tannic frame. Dips through the mid palate but there is skilful winemaking on display.

Inside Bordeaux

Clear quality, with depth to the black cherry and damson fruits, with fresher raspberry leaf, slate, cocoa bean and smoked earth. Touch of heat on the finish, this has plenty of personality, and does well in the line up - notably this is an upscore from last time I tasted it alongside classified estates.

Sappy cassis fruits, this is closed and subdued in feel, but has taken on weight and depth since En Primeur, and is an enjoyable wine with crushed stone minerality. Excellent value for a approachable slice of Margaux.
