Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2020 Reynon skips with cheery, uncomplicated notions of red and black cherries followed by hints of Sichuan pepper, forest floor, and pencil lead. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers chewy tannins and just enough bright black fruits, finishing savory.

Inside Bordeaux

Blended of 61% Merlot, 15 % Petit Verdot, and 24 % Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2023 Reynon gives up scents of fresh strawberries and cranberries with hints of dried herbs and graphite. The light to medium-bodied palate is lively and pure, though a little lean on med-palate fruit, finishing short and chewy.

Baked plum, damson, intense but enjoyable, carefully extracted brambled fruits with heavy spice. This keeps its balance, and it has the confidence to carry things through. You are getting a lot of impact for your money here. Jean-Jacques Dubourdieu owner and winemaker.

A blend of 51% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 15% Petit Verdot, the 2021 Reynon is medium to deep garnet-purple in color. It rocks up with ready-to-go notes of fresh redcurrants and Bing cherries, followed by hints of dried herbs and crushed rocks. The light to medium-bodied palate has compelling purity, with a lively line and soft tannins, finishing with a peppery lift.

The 2019 vintage delivers some impressive and inexpensive Côtes, as long as you go to tried and tested names, and this is easy to drink and balanced, with plenty of dark berry fruits and good acidity giving a mouthwatering signoff.
