Vietti has long been one of my favorites in Piedmont. But it has gradually become difficult to get hold of the most exciting wines. My favorite has been the Brunate, so it was exciting to pick up a 2004 from my cellar. I think it should be perfect to drink now. The nose has a slightly ripe fruit with cherries, strawberries and black currants. There are also moist red roses, autumn leaves and moist soil. It is very complex, elegant and incredibly appealing. The palate is fruity, acidic in fine balance, and velvety. The tannins are elegant and completely integrated. The finish is long, complex and acidic. It is a wonderful wine that has entered its perfect drinking window. It will probably also stay there for at least another 5 years. 96 points.
