Denne var helt spesiell. Vinen ble åpnet for to dager siden, et par cl ble fjernet og vinen ble deretter korket igjen. 
Her dufter det mye eksotisk frukt, blomster og honning. 
Vinen er oljete, men gir også et fløyelspreg i munnen. Det er lite syre i vinen, men tydelig mineralitet. 
Ettersmaken er lang og bærer preg av salt. En nydelig hvitvin

Challenging vintage according to our resident Rhône expert, Andreas. Still, this is unmistakably Rayas. Smells like entering a Darjeeling tearoom. Vivid red berries on the palate, the lingering finish punctuated with freshly crushed black pepper. Beautiful.

Pale ruby colored, the 2006 Rayas Châteauneuf du Pape leaps with perfumed notes of juicy raspberries, kirsch, and pronounced rose oil, followed by hints of white pepper, powdered cinnamon, and crushed rocks with a waft of fallen leaves. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers vibrant red berry and floral flavors with a lively backbone and silky tannins, finishing on a lingering peppery note.

En vakker vin. Klart noe alder (jeg gjettet 90-talls), men tydelig, intens rødfrukt, noe tanniner og flott balanse. Jeg gikk mot PC/GC Burgund - hovedtrekket var bringebær - men intensiteten i rødfrukten burde tatt meg mot CdP.

Now this is a wine I do not get to taste that often. It's simply (one of) the best producers of Chateauneuf-du-Pape. The style of the wine is also rather different from most Chateauneuf-du-Papes since it's made from Grenache only. Rayas also has a very good micro climate that is a bit cooler than the surroundings, giving the wines more freshnes and less alcohol. If you can find them, gi for it! Rare wines.
