Rich plum colour. Love the delicacy of this, with its vivid red cherry fruits, mandarin peel, cut herbs, gentle smoked earth, fine tannins, food-friendly acidity. Feels carefully balanced, with a dry finish, unfussy and easy to love. No need to wait too long, this is full of pleasure already, waiting to be claimed. Amedeo Moretti Cuseri director of this 60ha estate. Second year on the Place for a wine that had its first vintage in 1998, from massal selection Sangiovese south-facing vines at 250m in altitude, taken from 1935 plantings (now with a small addition of Merlot). Aged in small oak barrels, then held in bottle for six months before release. 40hl/h.
