A blend of 65% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot, the 2022 Simard has a deep garnet-purple color. It features bright, cheery scents of black cherries, fresh blackberries, and fragrant earth, leading to wafts of cinnamon toast and tar. The medium to full-bodied palate is vibrant and refreshing, featuring soft tannins and impressive length.

The 2020 Simard is composed of 60% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple in color, it flies out of the glass with graceful scents of redcurrant jelly, blackberry preserves, and dried roses, giving way to a core of juicy black plums and clove oil. The medium-bodied palate is fine-boned, with satiny tannins and fantastic freshness supporting the elegant fruit, finishing with a red berry lift.

Sweet and ripe nose as well, red fruit, another Burgundian example with dry spices, ginger, full bodied and generous with balanced proportions.

Sommelier

Fresh berry notes, crushed plum and aromatic herbs on the nose. The palate has medium weight, fresh acidity, rather slender texture, fresh pure fruit and medium length.

Rather floral and mineral, crushed red berries on the palate, elegant medium bodied style with a clean fresh finish.

Amatør

God og fyldig, dyp farge. Kunne nok vært lagret enda noen år. Smak av lær, mørke bær og noe sopp. Noe fatpreg men integrert og ikke overdøvende.

Myk vin godt inne i riktig drikkevindu. Rød frukt, modne plommer og jordlige toner. Relativt lett struktur uten den helt store fylden.

Fruktig, lett syre og fylde, lett tannin, fruktig og bløt avslutning

flott moden duft, plommer og svisker, bare synd man fortsatt aner noe grønt i underlaget (20% Cab Franc)
