The 2018 The Flight is a blend of 65% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 9% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color, it storms out of the glass with powerful notes of plum preserves, blackcurrant jelly, and Morello cherries leading to suggestions of candied violets, dark chocolate, licorice, and damp soil. The full-bodied palate is rich and opulent, with a firm, finely-grained texture and bright acidity perfectly framing the decadent fruit, finishing very long and fragrant. This is gorgeous!

The 2021 The Flight is composed of 65% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 16% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color, it waltzes out with flamboyant notes of juicy black raspberries, ripe plums, and boysenberry preserves followed by hints of cinnamon toast, rosebud tea, garrigue, and iron ore. The full-bodied palate is densely laden with rich black fruit layers and red berry accents supported by super-ripe rounded tannins and seamless freshness, finishing on a persistent ferrous note.

The 2020 The Flight, 64% Merlot and 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, is deep garnet-purple in color. A little tarry and broody to begin, it needs a lot of swirling to reveal a provocative core of blackberry preserves, mulberries, and fruitcake plus wafts of fallen leaves and star anise. The medium to full-bodied palate is surprisingly bright and airy, with intense black fruit and earthy layers supported by firm, fine-grained tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing on a lingering black truffle note.
