Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Beau-Sejour Becot saunters out with easy-going scents of juicy blackberries and plum preserves, followed by hints of cedar, potpourri, and fallen leaves. The medium to full-bodied palate is elegantly styled and refreshing, with very fine-grained tannins and a mineral lift on the finish.

Deep garnet-purple colored. Waltzes out with showy scents of black cherries, raspberry coulis, and red currant jelly, leading to hints of lavender oil, black olives, and fragrant earth. The light to medium-bodied palate is subtle and racy with silky tannins and a savory lift on the finish.

Ruby red, glass staining, peony and violet flowers on the aromatics, plush velvety tannins that cushion plump damson and pomegranate fruits through to a juicy salinity on the finish. Estate identity in full effect here, shot through with the sheer pleasure of limestone, harvest September 7 to 28 for the Merlot, with Cabernet Franc through to October 4. 39hl/h yield. 55% new oak for ageing. First year in the new cellar, Jean de Cournuaud technical director.

Inside Bordeaux

A blend of 76% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2022 Beau-Sejour Becot has more Cabernet Franc than any previous vintage. The pH is 3.55 pH and it has a deep purple-black color.  Notions of blackcurrant jelly, blackberry pie, and warm plums jump from the glass, followed by suggestions of cedar chest, Sichuan pepper, and garrigue. The medium to full-bodied palate is chock-full of juicy black fruit flavors, with bright acidity and ripe, rounded tannins, finishing long and earthy. 

The first vintage to be entirely overseen by Juliet Bécot, ann the sculpting of style that she has introduced can be seen here. A mix of amphorae, 20hl Stockinger casks and 225l barrels used for the ageing

The 2014 Beau-Sejour Becot is medium to deep garnet-brick in color. There a slight oxidized note on the nose, leading to otherwise appealing hints of dried plums and figs followed by hints of Indian spices and unsmoked cigars. The medium-bodied palate is chewy and a tad rugged with a firm finish.

The 2013 Beau-Sejour Becot is medium garnet-colored, with a touch of brick. It offers up subtle, vague scents of stewed black tea and dried figs, followed by dusty soil and wafts of raisin cake, with a hint of balsamic. The medium-bodied palate is chewy and a tan thin, with a firm, rustic finish.

Medium to deep garnet colored, the 2012 Beausejour Becot slowly unfurls to reveal notes of baked plums, boysenberry preserves, and chargrill with touches of espresso, sauteed herbs, and cedar. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is rugged and chewy, with muscular fruit and a grippy finish.
