Medium to deep ruby-purple colored, the 2021 Pinot Noir Occidental Station Vineyard needs a lot of swirling to coax out delicate notes of cranberries, fresh red currants, and wild strawberries, followed by nuances of violets, underbrush, and moss, plus a fragrant hint of wild thyme. The medium-bodied palate vibrates with energetic red berry and mineral layers, framed by firm yet super fine-grained tannins and wonderful tension, finishing very long and perfumed. Beautiful!

Intensely aromatic with spice and cherry with an acidic tinge. Initially, a slightly scorched top note - a tint from the 2020 wildfires, perhaps - diminishing with air. Saturated rasp- and blackberry flavors, violet and cranberry, with a sparkling, lingering finish. 93 with definitive upside if the scorched aroma is a bug rather than a feature.
