Medium to deep garnet-purple in color. Is a touch musty and dusty to start off, opening out to notes of black raspberries and loam with a waft of sautéed herbs. The light to medium-bodied palate is flat and largely flavorless with soft acidity and a chewy finish.

Impressive, it has lift and character, floral notes of red roses, raspberry leaf and peony, flirts with high alcohols and touches of cloves and tar from the oak, but there is supple fruit underneath, and the tannins have give and lift, not just shutting things down. Vintage signature without overkill. One to look out for, tasted twice. 30% new oak for ageing.

Inside Bordeaux

Carefully worked smoky aromatics with gentle clove spices and well-balanced red fruits. A little uneven in its acidities on the finish, with touches of crab apple and green pepper. 29hl/h yield, harvest September 24 to October 7. The 2020 Senejac is deep garnet-purple in color. It features expressive scents of blackberries, redcurrants, and raspberry leaves, followed by touches of garrigue and forest floor. The medium-bodied palate is soft and vibrant with a red berry lift on the finish.
