Impressive, it has lift and character, floral notes of red roses, raspberry leaf and peony, flirts with high alcohols and touches of cloves and tar from the oak, but there is supple fruit underneath, and the tannins have give and lift, not just shutting things down. Vintage signature without overkill. One to look out for, tasted twice. 30% new oak for ageing.

Inside Bordeaux

The 2022 Senejac is deep garnet-purple in color. Notes of blackberry compote, warm cassis, and Morello cherries jump form the glass with nuances of violets and dried sage. The medium-bodied palate is tightly wound and expressive, featuring fine-grained tannins and bright acidity, finishing with a provocative lift.

Sandalwood and cedar on the opening, brambled fruits, white pepper, austere but with juiciness on the finish. 48hl/h yield, 20% new oak for ageing.

Carefully worked smoky aromatics with gentle clove spices and well-balanced red fruits. A little uneven in its acidities on the finish, with touches of crab apple and green pepper. 29hl/h yield, harvest September 24 to October 7. The 2020 Senejac is deep garnet-purple in color. It features expressive scents of blackberries, redcurrants, and raspberry leaves, followed by touches of garrigue and forest floor. The medium-bodied palate is soft and vibrant with a red berry lift on the finish.
