Firstly, this is the 2022 vintage of Luis Seabra Granito Cru Alvarinho (VMP: 2641401) but it registers incorrectly on Vinify - even after pointing it out! 😉
Mix up between this one and the Granito Cru Dao from the same producer (VMP: 13016101)

Medium lemon in colour.

On the nose, highly pronounced aromas of ripe plums, yellow apples, peaches, lemons, honeysuckle and geranium.

On the palate, hefty but delicate aromas of white peaches, lychees, lemons, butter and more ripe yellow apples. 

Dry, medium acidity/alcohol/body with pronounced intensity and long finish. 

This was a really good but different Alvarinho. Could probably be paired with a fatty fish of some sorts. 


Expert

Technicality first - this is not an Alvarinho but a Dão field blend. Registers incorrectly on Vinify.

Medium golden in colour.

On the nose, aromas of ripe yellow apples, passion fruit, flint, and untreated oak staves. 

On the palate, dry with high acidity/body, medium intensity/alc and medium+ finish.

Aromas of yellow pairs, green and yellow apples, orange zest, granite and fairly new oak. 

Lovely stuff. 

Samme notater som for 2021-årgsngen selv om 2022 kanskje er noen desimaler svakere. Dette er en helt fabelaktig kompleks, kjølig og vellaget Alvarinho til en helt latterlig billig penge. Entusiaster burde kjenne besøkelsestiden sin - dette er en vin som vil øke mye i pris i årene fremover. Absurd QPR.

Amateur

Gyllen farge, nesten oransje i glasset. Fyldig vin med smak av honning og melon. Noe ettersmak av gule pærer. Veldig lekker vin! 

Amatør

Gyllen farge. Grønt eple og steinfrukt. Mineralsk og steinfrukt. Crisp, litt som en chablis?
