The 2022 Beau-Site is a blend of 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot, with yields of just 17 hl/ha due to hail and frost. Deep garnet-purple in color, it gallops out with energetic notes of red and black currants, black raspberries, and Morello cherries, plus hints of pencil shavings and underbrush. The medium-bodied palate is tightly wound with delicate fruit layers and firm, grainy tannins, finishing with just enough freshness.

Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, opens with a wave of blackcurrant fruit, leafy but fragrant. This is consistent wine that I recommend highly in almost every vintage - but it struggles in 2024 with overly-austere tannins. 38% new oak.  Harvest 2 September to October 8.

Inside Bordeaux

This is full of slate, juicy and bright blackberry and raspberry fruits, savoury edges of raspberry leaf and coffee bean, good quality, with asutere tannins that bring you firmly into En Primeur mode, with potential for ageing. Casteja family. 35% new oak, and a healthier yield than the 2022 at this property.

Enjoyable, well balanced, fine-bonded tannins and plentiful blackberry fruits. A little soft throuh the mid palate but this has mouthwatering charm. Harvest 1 October to 14 October (began pretty much the day they finished in 2020), with higher alcohol in the Cabernets than in the Merlots, very unusual but a result of the larger-than-average size of the Merlots.
