Beautifully poised and well delivered black fruits here, and this is excellent quality, unusual spices of sweet cinnamon, vanilla bean, turmeric, gourmet edging, with depth and tannic grip. Great stuff, flashes of heat, but a ton of personality, and serious architecture that promises to age well. 40% new oak barrels for ageing. Now contains part of the vines from newly-purchased Château Brillette, with good quality Cabernet Sauvignon from gravel terroir, in place as of this 2022 blend vitage.

Inside Bordeaux

Chalky, sappy, redcurrant and raspberry fruits, a little dilute through the mid palate, but skilfully balanced with spice and campfire smoke, unfussy and charming, more austere than in recent vintages. 40 hl/ha yield.

Ruby red, floral and savoury Cabernet Sauvignon character dominant on the attack with cassis bud, rose stem, on the edge of underipe balanced by spiced herbs and bright autumnal fruit character with fennel, marzipan, raspberry leaf, austere tannins on the finish. 40% new oak. 34hl/ha

Bright cherry red in colour, this has the vibrant berry fruit that is characteristic of the vintage, plenty of momentum through the palate, layered with mandarin and orange peel that shows acidity without being tart. A little short on the finish, but sleek and polished. 107ha estate owned by Celine Villars-Foubet, tasted twice.

Expert

The 2019 Chasse-Spleen is medium to deep garnet-purple in color. It leaps with compelling scents of black raspberry, crushed blackcurrants, and lavender, followed by suggestions of cedar and cloves. The medium-bodied palate delivers vibrant black and red fruits with a firm, grainy texture and plenty of freshness, finishing spicy.

The 2018 Chasse-Spleen is deep garnet purple in color. It prances out with pronounced notes of fruit cake, chocolate box, and prunes, with touches of crème de cassis and cigars. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has firm, chewy tannins and a lively backbone, finishing long and spicy. 

Mørk rød. Stofflig, ren aroma av solbær. Ganske lukket på smak, noe solbærfrukt som (i hvert fall fra pop ‘n’ pour) overskygges av tanniner. 2016 vesentlig mer åpen for business, men potensiale for fremtiden her.

Amatør

Medium to deep garnet in color, the 2014 Chasse-Spleen is starting to tire on the nose, with notes of leather car seats and cigar box plus wafts of iron ore, truffle, and prunes. The fruit is fading on the medium-bodied palate, delivering powdery tannins and a ferrous finish.

The 2013 Chasse-Spleen is medium garnet in color, with a touch of brick. The nose is hard to find at first, with delicate scents of cranberry sauce, dried herbs, and tobacco emerging after vigorous swirling. The light to medium-bodied palate is chewy, flat, and dull, with a short finish.

Ruby red with a garnet rim. Scented nose with blueberries, spice, cassis and licorice. Fresh acidity. Powerful and refined. A core of dark crushed berries, leather, spice and minerals backed up by some nice grippy tannins. Long

Drink from now with a little decant until 2040

The 09 vintage is, in my opinion, one of the better in Bordeaux. Compared to 2010 it is smoother and softer, but generally speaking on the same level. Just different and more approachable.

Denne kommer fra kjelleren i Paris. Ligger fortsatt 400 forskjellige Bordeaux flasker der fra 2003 2004 2005 og 2006 årgangene.
Personlig favoritt er 2004 og Chasse Spleen leverer kvalitet gang på gang selv med Cru Bourgeois status.
Flott rød brun farge.
Herlig balansert duft av primær sekundær og tertiær. Touch av blyantspiss.
Tanninene er myke, masse frukt og flott syre. Drikker perfekt nå og et par år til (etter min smak).
Prisen nå er over 600kr men denne ble nok kjøpt for ca 20€.

Veldig god vin som skinner best når du kombinerer den med rødt kjøtt f.eks entrecôte

Sommelier

Har lite referanser på denne typen vin. Sist eg hadde noe i nærheita var ein 1994 sak, den var full av fjøs og trengte luftig. Denne var god i glasset med ein gang. Avslipte tanine, noe frukt. Trengte likevel litt kjøt og fett for å skinne skikkelig. 

Nok ein strålande vinoppleving fra ein kompis sin kompis sin kjeller.
