Sappy fruit quality, one of the best Clément Pichons I have tasted for years, this has excellent balance of dark fruits, liqourice and slate. 90% stainlesss steel for ageing, 10% new oak barrels. 52hl/h yield. Currently planting 2ha of white grapes here, likely to be resistant grapes. working with INRA, with consultant Cecile Cazaux. They also produced a zero dosage crement de bordeaux from the Cabernet Franc in this vintage (not tasted).

Inside Bordeaux

Deep plum colour, medium to full intensity, a little flat in its acidities, but there are plenty of loganberry, pureed raspberry, baked damson and liquorice flavours through the palate. Has tannins and structure, intense with character. 40% in barrel for ageing, 60% in stainless steel.

The 2021 Clement-Pichon has a medium to deep garnet-purple color. It offers up vegetal and mossy stone notes, with a core of Morello cherries and strawberries. The medium-bodied palate is chewy and herbal, with a rugged finish.

The 2020 Clement-Pichon is deep garnet-purple in color. It comes bounding out with exuberant notes of baked plums, black cherry compote, and fruitcake, leading to wafts of clove oil and Indian spices. The medium-bodied palate is soft and fruity, with just enough freshness and a spicy finish.

Ruby red colour, this reliable Cru Bourgeois name delivers easy-drinking unfussy character, majoring on blackcurrant bud and gentle mint notes on the finish. No need to wait, will deliver most pleasure over the next three to eight years. Soft through the mid palate, as it was En Primeur (and this was a second bottle, first had an issue).
