The 2022 Chardonnay Lauren Estate was tasted as a barrel sample. Wow — you could just smell this all day, notes of candied orange peel, lemon tart, lime zest, pink grapefruit, and ginger tea emanate from the glass with hints of baker's years, Marcona almonds, and crushed rocks. The full-bodied palate has beautiful tension and so much energy that it vibrates with citrus and mineral layers, finishing with long, lingering ginger and orange peel notes. Lauren Estate, named after Mark Aubert's daughter, is a vineyard planted to four different clones: two old Wente clones (Hyde and Hudson), Mt Eden, and Corton Charlemagne. There are 6 acres here, planted in 1999 on an ancient seabed.

The 2023 Chardonnay Lauren Estate needs a lot of swirling to bring out evocative scents of Bosc pears, honeydew melon, marzipan, and honeycomb, plus hints of chalk dust and lime blossoms. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers intense, profound orchard fruit and savory layers, supported by beautifully knit acidity and a silken texture, finishing long with a spicy kick.

The nose on the 2021 Chardonnay Lauren Estate is so intoxicatingly powerful and gorgeous, with notes of orange blossoms, creme brulee, crystallized peel, lime cordial, and allspice, plus suggestions of acacia honey and dried persimmons. The full-bodied palate is magic - sparkling in the mouth with citrus, spice, and mineral accents, finishing with incredible length and depth. Lauren Estate, named after Mark Aubert's daughter, comes from a complex vineyard planted to four different clones: two old Wente clones, Mt Eden, and Corton Charlemagne.

Whæm-bæm-thankyou-mum! Du heilage jul for en intens og kompleks US Chardonnay! Her er det ren sitrusfrukt, epler, steinfrukt, treverk, rikt og deilig rørossmør, digestive-kjeks, hvite blomster og en lett flintaktig mineralitet. Intenst konsentrert, rik og veldig stor vin. Alkoholnivå over 15 % men gjør en fabelaktig jobb med å skjule det. Ikke en vin jeg vil definere som elegant, men samtidig så rik og oppmerksomhetssøkende at det er en egen hedonistisk opplevelse. Svært lang, og en opplevelse man husker!
