The 2022 Soudars is deep garnet-purple in color. It tumbles out with expressive scents of black raspberries, redcurrants, and dried sage, followed by hints of pencil shavings and damp soil. The medium-bodied palate is firm and rugged, with muscular black fruits and an herbal lift on the finish.

A consistent estate, and there are many lovely vintages that you can find of this wine, but once again the struggle for full ripeness in 2024 is evident, and the fruit remains on the redcurrant and red cherry side. Soft waves of grilled campfire smoke add charm. 28hl/h yield, St Seurin de Cadourne commune, which means they had the benefit of gravel soils for drainage. Machine harvest, 40 year old average vine age, Miailhe owners. 

Medium garnet-purple in color, the 2021 Soudars opens with fragrant notes of roses, black tea, and fertile loam followed by hints of kirsch and redcurrant jelly. The light-bodied palate is refreshing and pure, with lightly chewy tannins and a perfumed finish.
