Deep garnet-purple in color, the single-varietal 2021 State Lane Vineyard Grand Vin Cabernet Sauvignon storms out of the glass with powerful notions of creme de cassis, plum preserves, and baked blackberries leading to hints of candied violets, Indian spices, and forest floor with a touch of garrigue. The full-bodied palate is chock full of black fruit and savory layers, framed by firm, ripe, grainy tannins and a lively line, finishing long and fragrant. This is beautiful and should be incredibly long lived. 350 cases were made.

The 2022 State Lane Vineyard Grand Vin Cabernet Sauvignon, tasted as a barrel sample, is deep garnet-purple in color. It flies out with gregarious notions of black cherries, boysenberry preserves, and blackcurrant jelly followed by hints of Chinese five spice and potpourri with a waft of unsmoked cigars. The full-bodied palate is juicy and plush, with plenty of freshness and a long, opulent finish.
