Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2022 Malmaison rolls up with vibrant blackberry pie and kirsch scents, giving way to hints of sauteed herbs, tilled soil, and pencil lead. The medium-bodied palate delivers a good amount of muscular fruit, with soft, approachable tannins and plenty of freshness on the finish.

Rich and concentrated red fruit aromatics, crowd pleasing with punch but a flash of heat. Sweet cinammon, smoked turmeric, raspberry and damson fruits, enjoyable. 30% new barrels for ageing.

Inside Bordeaux

As with En Primeur, this is an understated, carefully-extracted wine with raspberry leaf, blueberry and pomegranate fruits, touches of white plum, chalky tannins, gentle but not at full ripenss. 30% new oak, harvest October 2 to 13. One point upscore.

Bright cherry colour, with gourmet smoked oak notes. This is a successful Moulis with balance and structure, juicy black fruits with grip and clean acidities on the finish that makes your mouth water. Plenty of personality here, good stuff from the Edmond de Rothschild Heritage team, owners of Château Clarke also. An upscore from En Primeur.
