Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2023 Roc de Candale leaps with eager-to-please notes of cranberries and red cherries followed by hints of graphite, dried herbs, and black pepper. The medium-bodied palate is bright and breezy, with nice balance and a lifted finish. The blend is 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc.

This has clear St Emilion signature with tannic grip, ambitious and sappy, a great En Primeur sample with density, everything is in place, grilled oak on the finish. Bernard and Thibault Decoster. In organic conversion, 25% new oak.

Inside Bordeaux

Starts off with an attractive burst of redcurrant and raspberry fruit, but pretty austere through the mid palate, and the acidity is a little overpowering. Harvest 27 September.  Magali and Thibaut Decoster owners.
