The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Sacrashe Vineyard was tasted as a barrel sample. Deep garnet-purple in color, it is a little subdued to begin, unfurling to reveal notes of juicy blackberries, boysenberries, and crushed blackcurrants, plus suggestions of pencil lead, wild sage, and iron ore. The full-bodied palate is chock full of mineral-laced black fruits with a firm, grainy texture and soft acidity to support, finishing long and earthy.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Exzellenz is deep garnet-purple in color. It requires a little air to bring out profound scents of blackcurrant cordial, chocolate-covered cherries, and dried mulberries with hints of cedar, pencil lead, crushed rocks, and anise. The full-bodied palate is concentrated, filling the mouth with tightly wound black fruits and earthy layers, textured by firm, grainy tannins, finishing on a lingering anise note.
