Inky colour, this is glass-staining and unusually muscular for the appellation. These are big tannins that threaten to overwhelm, and notes of tar as it opens. There are blackberry and damson fruits here, but it disappoints in its massive construction that closes things down abruptly on the finish.

Inside Bordeaux

Measured extraction to ensure a clean and vivid ruby colour but the acidity is high through the palate and the fruit majors on redcurrant and sour cherry. A tough year here.
