Deep garnet in colour, intense with jewel-like reflections. Cloves and liqourice spices get things underway, with cassis and bilberry fruits, plenty of intensity given an exotic edge of fennel, smoked cumin and cardamon spice. Good quality, carefully delivered, this feels chiselled and precise with a long dry finish. Moretti Cuseri family, 7.5ha of their vineyard given over to these Bordeaux varieties, oak barrels then aged for one year in bottle before release.

Inside Bordeaux

The 2021 Orma is a blend of 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Cabernet Franc. Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, it bursts from the glass with bold notes of stewed black plums, boysenberry preserves, and underbrush, followed by hints of cedar chest, tar, and bay leaves. The big, concentrated, full-bodied palate packs a wallop, with bags of expressive black fruits and a grainy texture, finishing with an invigorating mineral lift.

This wine always brings the finesse, with a medium intensity jewel-like colour and a clear focus on red fruits, raspberry, cranberry, touch of salinity brought by its location close to the sea, layered with dried roses, cassis bud, orange peel, savoury white pepper and mint leaf. Good quality and a clear Tuscan interpretation of the Bordeaux grapes, making this a wine to seek out. One year in bottle after barrel ageing before release. Clay, gravel and sand soils, vineyard located just 15m above sea level, Moretti Cuseri family, first vintage 2005. Heavy bottle a little incongruous.

The main estate wine from the Moretti Cuseri family, 7.5ha of vines located in the same corner of Tuscany as Sassicaia and Ornellaia. An impressive Bordeaux blend with the fragrance and spice that the Italian climate brings to the grape varieties. Fairly knitted down at this point, its tannins are well drawn and present, clear emphasis on spice notes with eucalyptus edging. High alcohol but well balanced, and good value for this style of wine, with substance and depth and you know it will age for a good decade or so. If open now ensure you are decanting for a few hours.

Oreno 2018 er en nydelig rødvin fra Umbria, laget av en blend av Sangiovese, Merlot og Cabernet Sauvignon. Den har en dyp, rød bringbær farge og en fin aroma med friske bær, spesielt bringebær, sammen med smaken av krydder, vanilje. Etter litt lufting åpner vinen seg, og bringebærene blir mer fremtredende, Smaken er fyldig og fint balansert. Den lange, behagelige finishen gjør Oreno 2018 til en fin vin for  kjøttretter, jeg testet den med litt fennikel salami og det endret karakter på vinen til et nytt level. for meg😊
