The 2021 J.O. Sullivan Founder's Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, with 11% Petit Verdot in the blend and aged in 85% new French oak, is deep garnet-purple in color. Notes of creme de cassis, black cherry preserves, and kirsch jump from the glass, giving way to hints of cardamom, lilacs, and Indian spices with a waft of bay leaves. The full-bodied palate is chock full of rich black fruit preserves and savory layers, supported by firm, grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and peppery/spicy. 500 cases were made.

The 2022 J.O. Sullivan Founder's Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, with 7% Petit Verdot in the blend, was tasted as a barrel sample. Opaque purple-black in color, it bursts with opulent notes of blackcurrant pastilles, boysenberry preserves, and blueberry pie leading to a fragrant undercurrent of red roses, Chinese five spice, and pencil shavings. The full-bodied palate has lovely, bright, crunchy fruit with a firm, grainy texture and a lively backbone, finishing long and minerally. This is beautiful!

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon JO Founders Reserve shoots out of the glass with notes of creme de cassis, blueberry preserves, and black raspberries, followed by hints of dark chocolate, Chinese five spice, and sandalwood. The full-bodied palate is dense and rich, with firm, grainy tannins and soft acidity, finishing long and savory.
