Medium to deep garnet-purple in color. Has quite a musty, tinned corn (reductive) and green vegetable nose with light to medium-bodied, chewy tannins and soft acidity, finishing a touch grubby.

Inside Bordeaux

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2023 Dutruch Grand Poujeaux opens with broody cedar and tar notes followed by juicy strawberries and blackberries at the core with an undercurrent of dried herbs. The medium-bodied palate is rugged and chewy, with a thin mid-palate and hard chewy finish.

Inky plum colour, sappy tannins where there is clear concentration, this has some movement and momentum palate, enjoable with good ageing potenital, not overwhelming.

Dark ruby in colour, a delicate fruit structure of raspberry and blackcurrant, set against higher acidity fruits of sour cherry and greengage. Floral aromatics also this is treading softly through the palate, impressively so, working with the vintage, carefully handed and has charm Eric Boissenot consultant.

A little austere even after 12 months of ageing, but there is plenty to love in this wine, and it will reward a few more years patience. Tight tannins, a little chalky, but set against bilberry fruits with a juicy frame.
