Deep garnet-purple colored. Notes of kirsch and juicy blackberries hop from the glass, plus hints of garrigue and damp soil. The light to medium-bodied palate is chewy and lively with just enough crushed red fruit flavors and a lifted finish.

Gunsmoke depth on the aromatics, cloves and coffee wash, subtle but evident, with gentle white pepper spice and soft cassis and blackberry fruits. Careful construction, just impacted by high acidity on the finish. 40hl/ha yield.

Inside Bordeaux

The 2023 Olivier is deep garnet-purple in color. It needs a fair bit of swirling and coaxing to move beyond the initial wave of oaky notes, eventually revealing a core of blackberry pie, crème de cassis, and black truffles, plus hints of rosemary and clove oil. The medium-bodied palate is lightly chewy and refreshing, with plenty of black fruit to back up the structure and a savory finish.

Ruby plum colour, edges of ruby red, vibrant and well balanced, has appellation signature, good quality, if a little squeezed on the finish. Grippy tannins, fragrant liquorice and sage spice that add pleasure and intrest. Enjoyable, with vintage character. 35% new oak.

This wine really impressed me En Primeur and it continues to do so in bottle. Juicy bluebery and raspberry fruits, with orange peel, pomegranate, slate and tobacco leaf. Subtle, controlled, finessed, smoked spice on the finish. Could benefit from more mid-palate expansion, as is true in most in the vintage, but delivers Pessac Léognan balance and enjoyment. 40hl/h yield.

Excellent quality, wonderful touch of deep black pepper and red pepper spice from the Petit Verdot that has added an extra layer of complexity to Olivier since its arrival in 2014. This has a beautiful grip and sense of controlled power and evolution through the palate, serious and concentrated, sappy on the finish.

Great quality with fragrant raspberry leaf aromatics, followed by savoury cassis fruits balanced with liquorice and cigar box. Good persistency, white pepper spice, olive tapenade and rosemary spice, this is subdued but opens up to show lovely complexity, and has great signature Pessac-Léognan precision and balance. More subtle than some in the lineup, with a mouthwatering finish.

The 2018 Olivier is deep garnet purple in color. It opens with notions of vanilla and toasty oak, over a core of baked blueberries and warm plums, plus hints of pencil lead and fallen leaves. Medium-bodied, with a good amount of juicy black and blue fruit in the mouth, it has a chewy texture and a firm finish. 

Middels mørk rød, mursteinsrød mot kanten. Frukten treffer først, mørke bær, litt bringebær. Tydeligere krydder og eik etter hvert. Godt integrerte taniner, så enkel å drikke. God vin
