A slightly subdued opening, focus on savoury redcurrant and raspberry fruit, fine tannins with precision and balance, enjoyable. Harvest 27 September to 8 October. 3.55 pH, 31hl/h yield, slap bang on the appellation average, organic certified. Around 55% of overall production in this wine.

Inside Bordeaux

Deep garnet-purple in color. Hops from the glass with vivacious notes of warm strawberries, black raspberries, and lavender, followed by suggestions of cinnamon stick and dusty soil. The light-bodied palate is refreshing and pure with red berry flavors and a soft texture paving the finish.

Vivid iris colour, floral aromatics, a little subdued on the opening notes, touches of tar, blueberry and raspberry fruits, and edges of tobacco leaf and cocoa bean, enjoyable. Harvest September 11 to October 3, 15% new oak for 12 months. 42hl/h yield

The 2022 Sarget de Gruaud Larose is composed of 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot, and 3% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color, it comes barreling out with bold notes of plum preserves, creme de cassis, and blackberry jam, plus hints of dark chocolate and camphor. The medium-bodied palate is bursting with expressive blackberry preserves flavors, supported by lightly chewy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing spicy.

Cabernet Sauvignon was unquestionably the grape of the vintage in the Médoc, and here you see its success in a 2nd wine. Harvest September 23 through to Otober 7. Ruby red colour, with lovely violet edging, clear birght fruits, tasty blueberry and redcurrant, cool vintage character but juicy and blalanced, and moreish. There was frost here on the Sarget plots, giving overall yields of 29hl/h. Final year of organic conversion.

Touch of reduction on the first nose, opens to show precision and purity, with plenty of grip as it unrolls. Cassis, mint, soot and liqourice, with a ton of St Julien typicity, understated. 15% new oak, organic conversion as of 2019, with certification due in 2022 for the vineyard. Virginie Sallette winemaker, 31hl/h yield.

A blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc , and 3% Petit Verdot, the 2019 Sarget de Gruaud Larose is deep garnet-purple in color. It offers up delicate scents of raspberry preserves, black cherry compote, and blackcurrant pastilles, plus suggestions of fallen leaves and dried herbs. The medium-bodied palate is a little thin, chewy, and herbal, with a firm finish.

Lukter noe ferskt og noe alkohol, bra bær.

God smak, varer lenge. Fin denne, mye bær. En generelt bærpreget vin.

En nese preget av røde solbær, svarte kirsebær, lyse plommer, sedertre, blyantspiss og gammelt støv på duft. 

Smak av mørke solbær, integrerte rødbær- frukt, vått treverk og sigarboks. Personlig syntes jeg dette er innenfor drikkevinduet nå eller ved kanten ved passering. Ettersom at primærfrukten ikke er like fremtredende. 

Tanninene er myke, syren er fortsatt tilstedeværende, med medium konsentrasjon.

Vanilje og solbær I lukt.

Myk og balansert, men ingen kompleksitet. Typisk bordeaux I smak.

👃 Blåbær, bjørnebær, solbær, anis, mandel og vanilje. I tillegg et veldig nellikpreg som ble borte med litt tid i glasset, og som passet de øvrige aromaene godt. 

👄 Flott konsentrasjon og kompleksitet. Dette er en «mørk» vin med tett, blå frukt sammen med tjære og tobakk. Videre er det en svak vanilje. Smaksopplevelsen bærer preg av at den er en litt umoden og lukket, og kan ligge mange år på langs for å bli mer tilgjengelig. 
Medium syre og medium+ tanniner.
