Deep garnet-purple colored. A little broody to begin, opening out to notes of baked strawberries and mulberries with hints of spice box and wild fungi. The light-bodied palate is lively and lightly chewy with an earthy finish.

The 2023 Cap de Faugeres is medium to deep garnet-purple in color. Notes of wild blueberries and black raspberries leap from the glass, followed by hints of licorice and wild sage. The medium-bodied palate delivers bright black berry flavors and lovely tension, with plush tannins and a red berry lift on the finish.

The 2022 Cap de Faugeres, 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, is deep garnet-purple in color. It comes bounding out with bold notes of juicy blueberries, black cherries, and dark chocolate leading to touches of garrigue, Chinese five spice, and black pepper. The medium to full-bodied palate has a sturdy structure of firm, grainy tannins with a lively backbone and great length.

The 2021 Cap de Faugeres has a medium garnet-purple color. It opens a little broodily with scents of plum and dusty soil giving way to hints of tar and tapenade. Medium-bodied, the palate has bright fruit and a lively backbone, finishing a tad chewy.

The 2020 Cap de Faugeres is medium to deep garnet-purple in color. It needs a fair bit of swirling to dispel broody notes of tar and damp soil and to bring out a fragrant core of kirsch, black raspberries, and boysenberries, leading to wafts of roses and cinnamon stick. The medium to full-bodied palate is coated with bright, crunchy black and red fruit, supported by fine-grained tannins and a lively line, finishing with a skip in its step.
